Sterling Silver Tree of Life Necklace
August Birthstone: Peridot-- the color is off in this photo, it's really a bright yellow-green. Here's an better example of the color:
Peridot, the bright green color of nature, is associated with harmony, good health, restful sleep, and peacefulness. Known as the stone of compassion, peridot calms anger by giving renewal to all things.
When set in gold, this gem was said to protect the wearer from nightmares. Supposedly, it frees the mind of envious thoughts that can damage and strain relationships. Also, peridot is believed to help depression. I'll keep you posted if I experience any of thes benefits. I'm wearing the August birthstone ring because both my son-in-laws have August birthdays.
I will be wearing this ring too. It's one of Avon's sterling silver rings (no longer available). It's green but not a peridot. It's more of a sage green. It was really hard to get a good picture but this one shows of the color best but not the beautiful details of the setting. I love the oval shape and the sparkling cz's on each side.
