A little New Year's Eve Product Review

Here is a product that you may be surprised that I tried because I don't have naturally curly hair.  but I do have some waves and several cowlicks!  So I thought I'd see if the curl cream would help make them behave better.  Well I don't know about that.  I've been using it for at least two weeks and it makes my hair look and feel fuller and thicker with no stiffness or stickiness!  So I would say a definite win!  Any of my curly headed friends who would like to give it a try?  I also got the Leave in Conditioner spray and I really like how it smells and it works great to give your hair a freshening say after wearing a hat or a long day of pulling your hair out or in the morning to tame the bedhead if you're not washing your hair.  This line of products also comes with a great shampoo and conditioner that I highly recommend.  As with all the newer products from New Avon it's a little more expensive than you might expect from Avon in the past but it lasts so much longer that I believe you are still saving money as well as time because you don't have to reorder as often!    This link will take you to the Elastine Propolithera Volumizing Shampoo that I use. https://www.avon.com/product/avon-elastine-propolithera-volumizing-shampoo-71109?rep=jmahl  Scroll down from there and you should see the other Elastine Propolithera hair care products.

Seeing the Old Year Out!

I hope you all had a happy Christmas the best way you could in the season of Covid. I'm ending the year by ordering Campaign 2 on Wednesday December 30th.   Here's the link to the Campaign 2 brochure.  https://www.avon.com/brochure?rep=jmahl  You can order direct from my E-Store and have it shipped direct to you or if you live in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro  let me order for you and I will deliver. With the snow/ice we're expecting, I'm glad this isn't delivery week!

Here are some highlights from Campaign 2:

A new perfume for those of you who are already longing for springtime called The Garden.

These lovely rose gold jewelry pieces.  I got the bracelet and loved it so I am ordering the necklace and earrings set to match.

Lots of comfy clothes(pages 150-159 in the brochure).  I know I'm getting old becuse I was so happy to see that the "everyday jogger" with ribbed cuffs had made a comeback after about 30 years!!  I ordered a pair and love them so much I'm ordering another pair.  You don't have to dress up too much when you are "retired"!  These days my activities are crafting, cooking, cleaning and getting groceries so sweatpants are the best fashion wear.

Many Avon fans will be glad to see these perfumed skin softeners back in the brochure, in all your favorite Avon fragrances!
Happy New Year everyone.  Wishing you all the best for 2021.  I'm excited to see what Avon will be introducing in the new year.

A Parade of Avon Christmas Pins

Christmas Pins!

I have a thing for Christmas pins!  I have a bunch of them!  When I was working, I wore a different one every day from Thanksgiving until Christmas.  So what to do with the pins now that I'm retired?  Well I have this one the 2020 star burst on my coat so I wear it whenever I go out.  I think I would feel kinda weird if I wore one everyday around the house on my tee-shirt so the next best thing, I'm going to share them with you on this blog.  Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

This is the oldest one I have.  It was given to me by my Sunday School teacher in 1967.  The first Christmas I was married, I forgot to take it off my sweater and ran it through the washer.  It came out it several pieces and my dear husband soldered it back together.  It looks a bit worse for wear but it's all in one piece again and I still wear it.

And this I think was last year's pin.  I will share the rest in my next post.

It's December 1st!

Here are my December picks.  But first something new.  I used up all my "Live Out Loud" perfume before the end of November and I had just recieved a demo of the new LYRD Bouquet de Freesia so I decided to try it out for the last few days of November. I have to say I liked it alot.  It lingers in the background all day and I really like that.  If you like fresh clean scents with a background of soft floral,  this is for you

For December I had picked "Velvet" because it was red and because it reminds me of "warm and cozy".
But when I took it from the shelf to put it wear I will use it every day, I saw that my bottle was not as full as I thought it was so I picked a second scent just in case Velvet doesn't make it until the end of the month.  I selected Artisan Santal Musk because it's green and because I've had it since August and have only worn it a couple of times and I've been looking forward to using it.  An added bonus for using the Velvet, I have the body lotion to go with it so I can layer my scent which I really like to do!

The picture doesn't do it justice.  This firey rainbow of color is called "mystic topaz".  The setting is so delicated it would look lovely on any ring finger!

This is my Be necklace, that I will be wearing this month.  It says Be strong, peaceful, courageous, loved, inspired.  That is how I always want to be but it's especially important to Be those things in the month of December in 2020 during a worldwide pandemic.

Have a great month.
